Sponsorship: Waste of money or the ultimate tool in the marketing mix?

Sponsorship: Waste of money or the ultimate tool in the marketing mix?

EVENT DATE
Wednesday 18 August 2010

Sponsorship Australasia and the Australian Marketing Institute invite you to attend this half-day ‘no holds barred’ master class to explore the role of sponsorship as a marketing medium.

In an increasingly complex world, with ever-increasing brand extension and media fragmentation, there is a need to engage with the consumer more than ever.

Is sponsorship a waste of money or is it the ultimate solution to how marketers can develop a fully integrated approach to embracing customers? Where does sponsorship fit in? How is it changing?

This master class will give a full analysis of the pros and cons of the art of sponsorship and will be conducted through a lively question-and-answer-style panel discussion. Some of the topics and issues that will be disucussed by the panel are:

Is sponsorship glorified advertising?
'Chairman's choice' or business driven?
Sponsorship leveraging – how much is enough?
How can you manage it if you can't measure it?

The panel will comprise:
Jann Kohlman, Optus.
Tyron Brant, KooGa.
Terry Reader, Brisbane Broncos.
Celestine Doyle, Queensland Art Gallery.
Stephen Forth, Banjo Advertising.
Lynne Anderson, Repucom.
Andrew Condon, MC Saatchi Sport and Entertainment, Sydney, will be the facilitator.
